Making your Faculty/Staff Gift

You can give a gift to any area of the university, and it will count toward the goal. There are convenient ways for you to make that gift:

• Make a one-time gift by check or credit card.
• Make a planned gift.
• Make a gift by check or credit card to help fulfill a multi-year pledge.
• Or, use the most popular payment plan, payroll deduction.

With payroll deduction, the total amount of your gift is broken down into smaller payments and deducted from your paycheck every two weeks. Twelve-month employees have 24 deductions per year and nine-month employees have 18 deductions per year. Many faculty and staff prefer payroll deduction as it enables them to make a larger gift than would be feasible through a single donation.

If you have decided how you would like to support the campaign, you might be pleased to know that there is a possibility of stretching your gift just a little farther. Tax credits for your contribution allow you to do this. If you are a Michigan citizen, you may be entitled to a tax credit of 50 percent of your gift, up to a maximum credit of $200 for a joint return.
